A southbound Jeep Renegade left the roadway at highway speed and struck several trees in the median. The Jeep suffered heavy damage and overturned. The motor was ejected from the vehicle and struck a southbound Ford Expedition causing extensive damage to the Ford.

The crash left the Jeep driver with “multiple traumatic injuries” and also sent a passenger to a Charleston-area hospital’s trauma center. The people riding in the Ford Expedition received treatment at the scene, Colleton County Fire-Rescue said in a news release.
