Driver killed in wreck on Johns Island

The person’s name has not yet been released by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
A crash into a tree on Johns Island around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday left one person dead. According to Sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson, the driver of a 2003 Lincoln Town Car lost control of the vehicle, crashed into an oak tree and was ejected from the vehicle on River Road near Roast Duck Lane. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounce dead at the scene. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
