Later Saturday evening, South Carolina Highway Patrol(link is external) provided more information. According to troopers, the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet pickup was headed north on the highway when a car heading south crossed the center line. The car hit the pickup head-on, and the driver of that car died at the scene.
