Ore Lee Carmichael, 66, killed, Samantha Carmichael, injured, arrested for felony DUI, after their car runs off the Joann Branch Road near Dillon, and overturns.

The driver of a car involved in a fatal Dillon County crash Sunday night has been charged with felony DUI.

South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators charged Samantha Carmichael with the death of the passenger in her vehicle, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said.

The Dillon County Coroner identified the victim as Ore Lee Carmichael, 66, of Dillon.

She was pronounced dead at a Dillon County hospital where she and Samantha Carmichael -- her daughter -- were taken for treatment of injuries following the crash.

The crash happened when a car driven west on Joann Branch Road by Samantha Carmichael ran off the left side of the road and overturned, police said.

Neither woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
