Elderly man dies driving in wrong I-229 lane
A 2001 Chevrolet PCS pickup was traveling north in the southbound lane near the Cliff Avenue exit. The pickup collided head-on with a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
The male driver of the Chevrolet PCS pickup, age 90, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim identified in wrong-way crash on I-229
2001 Chevrolet PCS pickup driven by Thraen was traveling north in the southbound lane near the Cliff Avenue exit when it collided head-on with a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 57-year-old Bernard Moore.
Thraen died at the scene. The Moores were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital.
