Brandon Hannah, Gwen S. Lara, William J. Lara, David L. Martin, Jennifer J. Martin, Jessica Walters and Jonathan Walters all killed after plane crash-lands in Percy Priest Lake near Smyrna, Tennessee

The plane was heading from Smyrna Airport in Rutherford County, near Nashville, to Palm Beach International Airport in Florida when it crashed into Percy Priest Lake around 11 a.m., officials said.

There were seven people on board, Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Arlene Salac said.

Rutherford County rescue crews were still at the scene of the crash late Saturday and planned to work through the night, Rutherford County Fire Rescue Capt. Joshua Sanders said at a news conference. He indicated that there were no survivors.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol told news outlets that a witness saw the plane go into the water near a marina.

Rutherford County Fire Rescue said the search has transitioned from a rescue effort to a recovery effort and operations will continue through the night. The NTSB will be the lead investigating agency, officials say.

Gwen Shamblin Lara founded the Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood in 1999 and wrote a faith-based weight loss book. Her husband of nearly three years, known as Joe Lara, was an actor featured in the TV series "Tarzan: The Epic Adventures."

Since the church began, there have been questions and concerns. Shamblin public denial of the Holy Trinity led churches to drop her program.

All seven were high-ranking Remnant Fellowship leaders and the church describes them as “some of the finest and most loving people that you would ever come across.”
