Man dead after motorcycle-truck crash on US 89 in North Salt Lake
One man was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and truck that prompted police to close U.S. 89 in both directions for almost four hours Sunday morning.
Emergency personnel received the report of the crash at 7:30 a.m. at Center Street and U.S. 89.
A pickup truck, heading east on Center Street, and a motorcycle, heading north on US 89, collided, causing the pickup to roll on its side, according to North Salt Lake Police Sgt. Mitch Gwilliam.

According to a memorial Facebook page set up for Atkin, he was sealed to his wife in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 2003. The couple had a son and two daughters together.
