State Trooper struck by car in Virginia Beach

The trooper was monitoring traffic when the Eastbound lane began to slow because of congestion. An eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier trying to avoid the slow vehicle in front of it swerved off the road and struck the motorcycle and the trooper.
The trooper was transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not injured and was charged with reckless driving and defective equipment.
