Injuries reported in crash involving VB school bus
Police spokesperson Officer Tonya Borman said there were no children on the school bus.
VB multi-vehicle fatal crash victim identified
Sawyer and the driver of the minivan were transported to a local hospital where Sawyer later died. The driver was in serious condition but has since been downgraded to stable condition.
The minivan crossed the southbound lanes of South Independence Boulevard, but continued into the northbound lanes and was hit by a school bus driving northbound on South Independence Boulevard. The bus struck a light pole. The collision then caused the minivan to hit a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was stopped at the stop sign on Silverleaf Drive.
