A man in his 50s was killed Tuesday morning on Issaquah-Hobart Road when his vehicle was struck head-on by an erratic driver in an SUV who minutes earlier had fled from a sheriff's deputy, officials said. A 1-year-old baby was found in the back seat of the suspect's vehicle after the crash and was taken to the hospital.

Man killed in head-on collision; suspect had infant in car

A man was booked into jail Tuesday and is facing a vehicular homicide charge after a deadly collision near Maple Valley Tuesday morning. Authorities say he had an infant in the car when the crash occurred. Investigators believe the 27-year-old Tacoma man led a deputy on a chase eastbound on Highway 18 just minutes before the crash.

Victim of fatal crash near Hobart identified; suspect to be released

The victim killed in a crash with a fleeing suspect in the Mirrormont/Hobart area Tuesday has been identified while the suspect who struck him is set to be released from jail. Police said on Tuesday morning, Delmar Young was weaving in and out of traffic with his baby in the back seat, when he slammed into another driver on Issaquah-Hobart Road, east of Renton. 

Maple Valley driver killed in Issaquah ‘touched the lives of hundreds’

Todd Miller said he spent every working weekday of the past four years with 53-year-old Brooks, a Maple Valley resident who was killed in a head-on collision near Issaquah Tuesday. The two ran a Microsoft corporate dining facility in Redmond while both raised young families.
