Man dies in Milton crash that sent car airborne, launched engine from vehicle

The Milton, Washington, police chief says a car involved in a fatal crash crossed the center line, launched off another vehicle and was hit hard enough by an oncoming truck to toss the car's engine 50 feet.

A car involved in a fatal crash crossed the center line, crashed off another vehicle and was hit hard enough by an oncoming truck to launch the car's engine 50 feet. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Kyle Pike of Puyallup. A police officer saw the car traveling at high speed Sunday night on Pacific Highway East. Two people in other vehicles were injured.
