A 15-year-old girl who was struck by a car last Friday in Port Orchard has died of her injuries. he South Kitsap High School student was walking to her school bus stop when she was hit.
High school student hit by car in Port Orchard critically injured
Police said a teenage girl walking to a bus stop Friday morning was hit by a car in Port Orchard.
Kitsap County Sheriff's Office spokesman Scott Wilson said the high school student was crossing the street to get to the school bus stop at Jackson Avenue and Southeast Azaelea Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. when she was hit by a driver heading north. She was not in a crosswalk.
The South Kitsap High School student was walking to her school bus stop when she was hit. The 52-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Kitsap County sheriff's office said at the time he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and wasn't speeding.
