A pregnant woman from Kent and her unborn baby died after a collision on Highway 169 east of Renton shortly before noon today, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A pregnant woman from Kent and her unborn baby died after a collision on Highway 169 east of Renton shortly before noon today, according to the Washington State Patrol. Marina Simons, 24, was driving southbound on Highway 169 around 11:45 a.m. when the 2002 Honda Accord left the roadway and struck a sign. The car re-entered the roadway, crossed into the northbound lanes and was struck by a 2001 Nissan Altima. Simons and her unborn baby were pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center. An 18-month-old girl who was also in the car was uninjured. The driver of the Nissan Altima, a 34-year-old Maple Valley woman, was injured and taken to Harborview. Both cars were totaled, the the State Patrol said.
