20-year-old James C. Campbell was doing private contract work on the Canadian Pacific Railroad on Thursday morning, and was driving an ATV when a magnetic boom used to lift rail spikes lost control and swung into the vehicle. It caused the vehicle to overturn, and Campbell was ejected and died at the scene of a head injury.

8-year-old Grant Robbins was driving a two-seater ATV on Emerald Avenue when he made a turn into his family's driveway and the vehicle flipped over. He was not wearing a seat belt or helmet, and was pinned by the vehicle's roll bar. Repsonders pronounced him dead at the scene.

It was about 3:10 p.m. when 37-year-old Shawn F. Constantini was driving an ATV in the gravel driveway of a residence on Horan Road, and he crashed into a utility pole. A 6-year-old child that was not wearing a helmet was sitting in front of him on the ATV and sustained severe injuries. Constantini sustained some minor injuries, and was arrested for causing great bodily injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and bail jumping. It was just after 9:00 p.m. when a UTV driven by Kevin Harvey, 53, crashed in an off-road rollover on private property near Moffat County Road 78. One of the passengers, only identified as a 9-year-old boy, was pinned by the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Kevin Sidener, 35, and a 12-year-old girl were also passengers in the UTV, but there is no word on whether or not they were injured.

14-year-old Joel Stephen Howell was riding an ATV to the north on Jaguar Drive at about 7:45 a.m. when he failed to properly negotiate a curve in the road, hit the curb, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet, sustained critical injuries, and has since been transported to UF Health Jacksonville.

It was about 7:15 p.m. when a 14-year-old boy was driving an ATV through a pasture in Caddo County and crashed into a cow. As he was not wearing a helmet or a seat belt, his vehicle flipped and he sustained a severe head injury. Responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Ryan E. Gauthier was riding an ATV on East Wilson Road when he ran into a telephone pole. He was not wearing a helmet at the time and died at the scene. He is survived by his parents, a girlfriend, and two children.

Tom McTevia of Coeur d'Alene and Tina Hoisington of Lewiston were killed Sunday, April 19th when the ATV they were riding went off a 2,000-foot cliff at Bernard Overlook in Bonner County, Idaho. McTevia and Hoisington died at the scene. It is believed that the riders were posing for a photo when they got too close to the edge of the cliff.

Andrew Mahncke of Columbia Falls was driving an ATV near Eureka at about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday when he side-swiped another ATV. His four-wheeler veered into a wooded area, where he collided with several trees. Mahncke died en route to the hospital. He was wearing an usecured helmet. The occupants of the other ATV were not injured. Montana Highway Patrol says the collisions occured during Koocanusa Fun Days.

Michael P. McCarty was driving a UTV on Nolan Road when he made a left turn onto Cole Road and three passengers in the rear utility box fell from the UTV. Brian K. Barney, 50, Jamie L. White, 32, and Darryl J. Walker, 37, all fell from the UTV. White and Walker were not injured, and McCarty and a passenger in the front seat of the UTV was not injured. Barney was taken to Upstate Medical Center where he died of head injuries sustained in the crash. No one on the UTV was wearing a helmet.
