Saturday, September 27, 2014The couple were heading northbound on their motorcycle just south of St. Lucie Boulevard around 9 p.m. on Sept. 27. The motorcycle rear-ended a van and the two were ejected from their bike, after which another vehicle ran over Lisa Maynard and left the scene. Lisa was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tom was pronounced dead after being brought to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

Sunday, September 21, 2014Eliu Bravo, 38, of Port St. Lucie, the passenger of Mariela Arriaza's vehicle, was declared dead at the scene of the crash, and police are asking for anyone with information about the crash to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 561-357-4108.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLA 2004 Nissan Maxima struck the scooter from behind. The impact ejected Irizzary from the vehicle and into the roadway. The driver of the Maxima immediately stopped but a second vehicle ran over the deceased and failed to stop. Daniel Irizzary, a 37-year-old Largo resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Birmingham, ALThe driver of the other vehicle, which appeared to run Whiteside's vehicle off the road didn't stop. It's not clear if this was intentional. Whiteside was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation.

Washington, DCOne passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to authorities, and Ashley Dominique Harley of Clinton, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene. The ramp was closed for approximately 3 hours. The driver was apprehended soon after he fled.

Thursday, February 27, 2014A Pompano Beach woman was arrested after she struck and killed a motorcyclist Friday, then fled and tried to cover up the evidence, deputies said.
Nadia Verdoni, 42, was charged with DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene involving death and tampering with evidence, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Las Vegas, NVA 15-year-old boy driving a moped was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley Thursday night.
Alex Martinez and a 20-year-old male passenger were traveling west on Meikle Lane about 8:20 p.m. when the accident occurred. They were crossing Ringe Lane, near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards where they were struck by an unknown vehicle, according to Las Vegas police.
Both Martinez and the passenger on the moped were thrown onto the road. The operator of the vehicle that hit them did not stop or call the police.
