Authorities say nine students were hospitalized with minor injuries following a school bus crash in central Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the bus was heading to Bridgewater Middle School Monday morning when the driver, 55-year-old Linda Rickerson, tried to make a left turn at an Orlando intersection. FHP reports that a PT Cruiser crashed into the side of the bus. The PT Cruiser's driver was also injured. Troopers cited the bus driver with violating the right of way. Uninjured students were released from the scene, and another bus took them to school.

A man was taken to the Shelby County Jail Monday morning after police say he crashed his car into a school bus and was intoxicated. Police say around 7:41 a.m., a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Ward was heading westbound on Polk approaching Tompkins. The Shelbyville Central School bus, which was carrying seven children and the bus driver, was heading southbound on Tompkins at Polk Street when the driver saw Ward approaching and noticed he wasn’t slowing down. According to a release, the bus driver tried to alert Ward by honking her horn, but Ward didn’t slow down or stop for the stop sign.

Over 20 people were injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Armstrong County Saturday night. The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 2200-block of River Road in Kiski Township. A group of adults were on the bus that collided with an SUV. At least five people were taken to local hospitals, while another 17 were treated at the scene. All of the injuries are believed to be minor. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

At least seven children were taken to the hospital after a bus accident in Berkshire Friday, but police say none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Vermont State Police say they were called to the accident on Potato Hill Rd. just before 4 p.m., where they found the bus partially on its side.

Nathan Higley, 18, of Spokane, walked away with a bruised arm after a crash involving a school bus at the corner of Mission Avenue and Washington Street in Spokane on Wednesday. Higley, on his way to the Spokane Skills Center, was traveling east at the intersection while the bus was headed north. The bus driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

A Wednesday morning school bus accident sent 18 people including students to Memphis hospitals. The crash happened at Winchester Road and South Goodlett Street, near Lamar Avenue. Memphis Fire Department says at least five ambulances were called to the accident that happened just before. 7 a.m. Students that were hurt had minor injuries and were taken to hospitals, including Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

A motorcyclist died after being involved in a wreck with a special education school bus and a pickup truck, according to the Laurens County Chief Deputy Coroner. Cheek said the wreck happened on Highway 221 near New Prospect Church Road Friday morning. The Laurens School District 55 Superintendent was at the scene of the wreck. There were four students on the bus at the time of the wreck, but none of them nor the driver was injured, Strickland said. The students on board went to a couple of different schools, but Strickland could not say which schools those were.

Six Hartford Union High School students were injured Monday when a school bus left a snow-covered road and crashed into a tree, according to City of Hartford Fire and Rescue. The students were being driven home when the crash was reported about 4 p.m. on Valley Road in Dodge County, according to a news release. According to the release, roads were snow-covered and slippery, and the bus driver reported near whiteout conditions at the time of the crash. The injured students, among 10 students on board the bus, were taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

More than a dozen people were injured when a school bus smacked into a car in Brooklyn, officials said. The accident happened near the intersection of E. 18th St. and Dorchester Road in Ditmas Park at 3:18 p.m., officials said. Sixteen people are being treated on the scene for minor injuries, officials said.

A school bus carrying children and two other vehicles collided this morning in Northeast Philadelphia. The yellow bus, white van and red SUV were involved in the chain-reaction wreck at Rhawn and Eastwood Streets around 9:45 a.m. At least nine injuries were reported including children on the bus. Philadelphia Police accident investigators desribced the injuries as mostly bumps and bruises. As SkyForce10 hovered overhead a short time later it appeared that the bus, operated by Philly-based Leahy Transportation, hit the back of the van, which hit the back of the SUV.
