School bus driver cited in morning crash; students not seriously injured.

A minor traffic accident involving a school bus sent several area students to the hospital this morning, but no one was seriously injured, police said.

A Wednesday morning school bus accident sent 18 people including students to Memphis hospitals. The crash happened at Winchester Road and South Goodlett Street, near Lamar Avenue.

Memphis Fire Department says at least five ambulances were called to the accident that happened just before. 7 a.m. Students that were hurt had minor injuries and were taken to hospitals, including Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. Shelby County School officials say that 30 Sheffield High School students were on board the bus at the time of the accident. The students that were not injured were loaded onto a second bus, which took them to school.
