San Antonio, TXA man is in critical condition at University Hospital after an alleged hit-and-run wreck Monday night on the Northwest Side.
William Collier, 55, was crossing the street before 8:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Wurzbach Road, outside of a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Kia Sol that fled the scene without helping, according to San Antonio Police Department spokeswoman Romana Lopez.
Collier was hospitalized with a head injury, according to Lopez.

Saturday, December 7, 2013Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash near Colorado Springs.
The Colorado State Patrol says three people were involved in a rollover crash near mile marker 38 on state Highway 115 at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday. They were trying to flag down vehicles for help when one of them was struck and killed.
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Ian G. Saj, of Brush.

New York, NYA 35-year-old man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Queens early Sunday, police said. The victim, a Brooklyn man whose name was not immediately released, was mowed down as he tried to cross Woodhaven Blvd. at Jamaica Ave. about 3:15 a.m., cops said. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where he died. Police are looking for a white Honda sedan seen leaving the scene.

Boston, MAVermont police say a pedestrian has died in a suspected hit and run in Brattleboro.
Police say the person was struck Friday evening in the area of Western Avenue and Union Street. Authorities say the vehicle reportedly left the scene.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Thursday, December 5, 2013Police in Montcalm County are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a vehicle whose driver is accused of hitting a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene.
Devon Lee Hollenbaugh, 20, was walking south on M-66 south of Holland Lake Road in Sidney, north of Sheridan, around 10:09 p.m. Dec. 6.
Police said a southbound vehicle’s passenger-side mirror struck Hollenbaugh as the vehicle drove by, according to a news release. The driver then drove from the scene.
Hollenbaugh was transported to Sheridan Community Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Thursday, December 5, 2013A pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run on Valencia Street in San Francisco early this morning, police said.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was struck by a car at about 2:45 a.m. as he walked across Valencia at Clinton Park, according to police.
The car continued south on Valencia Street and did not stop after striking the man, who was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for life-threatening head wounds, a police spokesman said.

Philadelphia, PAAn unidentified man suffered serious injuries when he was hit in Kingsessing early Wednesday morning.
A suspected DUI driver smashed into a man overnight before trying to get away.
The crash near 54th Street and Woodland Avenue in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia left the victim in critical condition.
According to police, a man in his 20s was behind the wheel around midnight.

Spokane, WAAn Idaho man was killed Sunday morning when his car was struck by a suspected drunken driver in Lewiston.
Paul W. Stuk, 53, of Peck, Idaho, died at the scene of the 4:39 a.m. collision at 21st and East Main streets.
Kyle N. Rios, 24, of Lewiston, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicating beverages or drugs and leaving the scene of an injury accident, Lewiston police said.
The Lewiston police Major Accident Investigation team was investigating.

Houston, TXA Houston bicyclist has died from injuries suffered in a weekend hit-and-run accident, police said.
Chelsea Norman, 24, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The accident happened about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 1600 block of Waugh Drive in the Montrose area, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department.
Police said the cyclist was riding south on Waugh at West Gray when she was hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver left without giving aid.
As of Wednesday afternoon, police had no witnesses or suspects, the release said.

Thursday, November 28, 2013A 16-year-old is in trouble with the law after Upper Allen Township police in Cumberland County say the teen fled the scene of a crash and was driving under the influence.
Police responded to a hit-and-run crash around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday along the 1700 block of North Meadow Drive.
"The striking vehicle fled the scene and was located by police several blocks away. The 16 year old juvenile driver admitted to having been driving at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to strike a curb which caused property damage and disabling damage to the vehicle," a police news release states.
