A driver was ejected when their car went over an embankment near Riverside and Maple streets near the south end of the Maple Street Bridge, according to Spokane police. The accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m., and the car was discovered by police about halfway down the hill. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was identified as Chancer Prouty, 24, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Just before 11pm Wednesday an RV and a Smart Car collided at the intersection of North Newport Highway and North Nevada Street near the Northside YMCA in Spokane. At around 10 p.m., Sharon Ferg of Spokane was southbound in a 1973 Dodge motor home on Highway 2 near Nevada Street when she tried to turn left and was struck by a northbound Nissan Versa driven by Roger Tracy of Elk. The RV tipped over onto its side. Ferg and her passenger, Aaron Kreitz, were taken to Providence Holy Family hospital, as were Roger Tracy and his passenger, Jenny Tracy. No information was available on their condition. All parties were wearing seatbelts. Ferg faces charges of driving with a suspended license and no insurance, according to Washingtn State Police.
A man was walking in a crosswalk in downtown Spokane when he was struck by a white SUV. Bystanders were able to provide aid to the man until paramedics arrived. He was transported to a local hospital and his current condition is unknown. Accident is still under investigation.
A driver hit a 10-year-old boy, then crashed into a fence near East Mission Avenue and North Cook Street around 7:30 a.m. Thursday in north Spokane. The boy suffered serious injuries and is currently in the hospital in critical condition. The driver is cooperating with investigators.
