Two children were taken to the hospital Friday after a wreck involving a sport-utility vehicle and a school bus in Greenacres. The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Worth Road and 57th Avenue. All roads are back open after earlier closures. One child, who was in the SUV, was taken to Delray Community Hospital by Trauma Hawk for precautionary reasons, according to Lt. Brady Myers with the Greenacres Department of Safety. A second child, who was on the school bus, was taken to Palms West Hospital. Neither child had life-threatening injuries, said Myers.
Eleven students on the bus were transported to Jewish Hospital South and released after a wreck that occured at about 6:30 a.m. at Preston Highway and Belmont Road just east of Fort Knox. An 86-year-old man drove into the back of a school bus that had stop to pick up students in Bullitt County. The man later died of his injuries. None of the students suffered serious injuries.
A 7-year-old boy was flown to a trauma center Monday afternoon after being injured in an all-terrain vehicle rollover in Loxahatchee, said a spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The child was flown by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center, Borroto said. The accident happened a few minutes before 6 p.m. on the 17,700 block of 61st Place North.
