Bullitt school bus hit from behind, 86-year-old car driver killed.

The 86-year-old man who drove into the back of a school bus that had stopped to pick up students in Bullitt County Friday morning has died.

It was a scary morning for the students and their parents when 86-year-old Thomas Crowder struck a Bullitt County Public Schools' bus, but they are all doing OK. Crowder, however, died on impact.

Police also tell us, it appears the bus was operating in correct order and the bus driver had fully deployed all available emergency equipment to warn drivers.  At this time, alcohol is not suspected, however, investigators will await toxicology reports from the deceased driver. 

Eleven students on the bus were transported to Jewish Hospital South and released after a wreck that occured at about 6:30 a.m. at Preston Highway and Belmont Road just east of Fort Knox. An 86-year-old man drove into the back of a school bus that had stop to pick up students in Bullitt County. The man later died of his injuries. None of the students suffered serious injuries.
