A Lynnwood man and his passenger sustained minor injuries Sunday after a rollover car crash off the highway just outside Yakima at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Tanner Budde, 19, and Vanicia Jones, 17, of Yakima, were transported to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center after Budde’s vehicle exited the road near Toppenish, and rolled into the median. The extent of their injuries has not been reported. The vehicle was totaled. Authorities said fatigue caused the accident and the driver is facing charges of negligent driving.

One person was killed at about 4 a.m. when a vehicle rolled and the driver was ejected from the vehicle on I-82 just north of Wapato Road near Union Gap in Yakima County, Washington. Icy roads are being blamed for the accident. According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, the driver is identified as Travis C. Rudy Navarro, 21, of Outlook, was injured Monday evening when he crashed his pickup 2 miles west of Prosser on Interstate 82. Navarro was westbound about 5:40 p.m. in a Ford F-350 when he left the roadway to the left, rolled and came to rest in the eastbound lanes. Kathleen Charleboix was driving westbound on Interstate 82 when her car began to drift off the road. She then overcorrected causing her vehicle to roll, totalling the car. Fortunately she was wearing a seatbelt and drugs and alcohol were not involved. She was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
