Fatigue causes Yakima driver to crash

Two people were injured early this morning when the driver apparently fell asleep eastbound on Interstate 82, according to the Washington State Patrol. 

Tanner Budde, 19, and Vanicia Jones, 17, of Yakima, were transported to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center after Budde’s vehicle exited the road near Toppenish, and rolled into the median. The extent of their injuries has not been reported. The vehicle was totaled. Authorities said fatigue caused the accident and the driver is facing charges of negligent driving.
