Interstate 55 southbound has reopened after being closed due to deadly accident. The southbound lanes were closed between Manchac and Ruddock. Louisiana State Police say that two people are dead after a wrong-way driver hit another vehicle head on. Police say 32-year-old Brandon Craig of Franklinton was driving a 2011 Kia north on the southbound lanes. The Kia struck a 2006 Chevrolet driven by 31-year-old Conrad Hebert of Tickfaw head on, police say.

A woman suspected of drunken driving was arrested early Monday after authorities said she drove the wrong way on two highways and collided with a California Highway Patrol car. Authorities were notified about 1:35 a.m. that a driver in a Mitsubishi Mirage was heading west in the eastbound lanes of state Route 52. The driver then exited onto Interstate 5 and headed south in the northbound lanes where she sideswiped the patrol car, the CHP said. The driver was stopped and taken into custody and booked into jail on DUI charges, the CHP said. No injuries were reported.

A man from North Richland Hills is dead after his car collided with a tractor-trailer around 4:04 a.m. on the on-ramp to the eastbound lanes of I-635E from Highway 114. Police say the man was traveling the wrong way when his Honda collided head-on with the semi. The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Jorge Rico. Rico’s time of death is listed on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website as 4:15 a.m., with a cause of death being multiple blunt force injuries. Rico was the only person injured in the crash, which shut down the I-635E on-ramp for two hours.

A wrong-way driver was killed in a five-vehicle crash in northwest suburban Arlington Heights Monday afternoon. The crash happened about 12:15 p.m., when a 51-year-old man from Palatine was driving northwest in the southeast-bound lanes of Rand Road between Thomas and Dryden avenues, according to a statement from Arlington Heights police.

Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 82 near Hermiston early Friday involving a wrong-way driver. About 1:30 a.m., a Hermiston woman, later identified as Alicia G. Breckheimer 31, was headed west in her 2005 Cadillac CTS in the eastbound lanes of I-82 smashed nearly head-on into a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by a 66-year old man from Ione. The Cadillac ended up in the center median and the Chrysler stopped on the eastbound shoulder. The man, later identified as Robert Henry Baker, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man is dead after driving the wrong way and crashing into an 18-wheeler. According to the Houston Police Department, a man was driving a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck around 10:00 p.m. Friday. The man somehow got on the westbound feeder lanes of I-10 going eastbound, the wrong direction The driver then slammed head-on into an 18-wheeler going westbound. The 25-year-old driver of the pickup truck was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated once police arrived. He was taken to Hermann Memorial Hospital by Lifeflight in critical condition, where he later died.

A man and woman were behind bars after a high-speed police chase ended with a crash in southwest Salt Lake County early Thursday morning. West Jordan police Sgt. Dan Roberts said the chase began at 7800 S. Redwood Road, where police say the woman driver blew through a red light. The ensuing pursuit wound through residential areas and eventually onto Bangerter Highway, where the car ended up going the wrong way.

6-year-old boy died and three other people were hospitalized Friday following a wrong-way car crash on Interstate 5 just north of Vancouver. The accident happened just before 2 p.m. when an 84-year-old Vancouver man driving south in the northbound portion of I-5 crashed head-on into a car driven by a La Center woman who had two children in her vehicle. Gage W. Musgrave was driving a white 2005 Toyota Avalon, according to the Washington State Patrol accident report, when he collided with a 2008

A man from Byron Center was killed in a three-vehicle crash that happened Thursday afternoon on the east side of the state. Dick Allen Versendaal, 76, was killed when his SUV hit a pickup truck around 3:30 p.m. on Van Dyke Avenue in Bruce Township, which is about 40 miles north of Detroit. Witnesses said Versendaal was driving the wrong way on the street when hit the pickup head-on, according to Michigan State Police.

A person was killed early Sunday during a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles on state Route 94 in central San Diego. The crash occurred at about 2:16 a.m. on eastbound SR-94 east of Federal Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a suspected drunken driver was behind the wheel of a black BMW that entered the wrong side of the freeway and slammed into a black Nissan Sentra, killing the other driver instantly. The BMW's driver and passenger were both transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital. The extent of their injuries and their conditions were unknown.
