Two people were killed Saturday in a crash in which one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong direction on the roadway, D.C. police said. A driver traveling southbound in the northbound lane Kenilworth Avenue NE struck two other vehicles before hitting a wall, said a police spokesman. One occupant of the striking vehicle and one occupant of one of the vehicles struck were killed, he said, and a passenger in the wrong-way vehicle was taken to a hospital. The incident took place around 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of Kenilworth, an area where the avenue straddles the Anacostia Freeway.

A wrong-way driver on U.S. 290 was killed in a collision early Sunday morning when he hit a Jeep filled with Texas A&M students returning to College Station. Jon Fontana was driving a silver Toyota Camry eastbound in the westbound lane of U.S. 290's 30600 block at about 2:30 a.m., according to press release from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Fontana collided head-on with a Blue Jeep Liberty driven by Denise Martin, the release said.

Two people died in a crash Friday just after 12:30 a.m. in Boerne, according to the Boerne Police Department. The crash occurred after a call came in for a wrong-way driver at the 540 mile marker of Interstate 10, according to police. Three helicopter ambulances were called to the scene, according to police. Mary Hodsdon, 21, was one of the people who died, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.

A wrong-way driver collided with a tractor trailer early Thursday on the Chicago Skyway, spilling diesel fuel and closing all southbound lanes for more than an hour on the South Side. A female driving in a black Infinity northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 90 crashed with the semi about 1:30 a.m. near 76th Street, said a police News Affairs Officer. The truck spilled diesel fuel, causing a HazMat situation that temporarily closed all southbound lanes, Greer said. The expressway was reopened about 2:55 a.m.

Police have identified the man killed in a moped crash on Route 1/East Main Street in Clinton last night. According to police, 40-year-old Kenneth Waite of East Main Street was driving his moped westbound in the wrong lane when he collided with an SUV driving in the opposite direction. It happened on East Main Street around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police said Waite died at the hospital. East Main Street was shut down in the area of Marine Avenue while authorities investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The man who died in a crash with a semitrailer truck on Highway 151 was identified Wednesday as Joseph Kreklow by the Dane County medical examiner's office. Kreklow, 28, of Sun Prairie, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of the highway when his vehicle struck the semi about 2 a.m. Tuesday. The headlights of Kreklow's vehicle were not on. Both vehicles were severely damaged, but the 63-year-old semi driver was not hurt.

Interstate 55 southbound has reopened after being closed due to deadly accident. The southbound lanes were closed between Manchac and Ruddock. Louisiana State Police say that two people are dead after a wrong-way driver hit another vehicle head on. Police say 32-year-old Brandon Craig of Franklinton was driving a 2011 Kia north on the southbound lanes. The Kia struck a 2006 Chevrolet driven by 31-year-old Conrad Hebert of Tickfaw head on, police say.

A woman suspected of drunken driving was arrested early Monday after authorities said she drove the wrong way on two highways and collided with a California Highway Patrol car. Authorities were notified about 1:35 a.m. that a driver in a Mitsubishi Mirage was heading west in the eastbound lanes of state Route 52. The driver then exited onto Interstate 5 and headed south in the northbound lanes where she sideswiped the patrol car, the CHP said. The driver was stopped and taken into custody and booked into jail on DUI charges, the CHP said. No injuries were reported.

A man from North Richland Hills is dead after his car collided with a tractor-trailer around 4:04 a.m. on the on-ramp to the eastbound lanes of I-635E from Highway 114. Police say the man was traveling the wrong way when his Honda collided head-on with the semi. The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Jorge Rico. Rico’s time of death is listed on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website as 4:15 a.m., with a cause of death being multiple blunt force injuries. Rico was the only person injured in the crash, which shut down the I-635E on-ramp for two hours.

A wrong-way driver was killed in a five-vehicle crash in northwest suburban Arlington Heights Monday afternoon. The crash happened about 12:15 p.m., when a 51-year-old man from Palatine was driving northwest in the southeast-bound lanes of Rand Road between Thomas and Dryden avenues, according to a statement from Arlington Heights police.
