Authorities say a state trooper was among three people hurt in an early morning crash in Revere. Police say the trooper had pulled over another vehicle on Route 1 south at about 1 a.m. Monday and was still in his cruiser when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. The trooper and the occupants of the other two vehicles were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with minor injuries. The cause remains under investigation and there was no word on charges. No names were released.

Williamstown police say a Vermont man has died in a head-on crash in front of the local high school. Police say 64-year-old Lawrence George, of Pownal, Vt., was heading south when his Hyundai Elantra was struck by a northbound Ford Explorer that had crossed the center line in front of Mount Greylock Regional High School. George was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, 34-year-old William Lowe, of Pawtucket, R.I., and a female passenger, were transported to Berkshire Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening.

One man was killed and three others were hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident in north St. Louis Monday morning. According to authorities, four men between the ages of 20 and 30 years old were traveling southbound on N. Kingshighway near Lexington around 4 a.m. when the driver lost control. The vehicle then hit a curb before slamming into a pole. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The three other occupants were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Kingshighway was shut down in both directions just south of Natural Bridge.
