The man run over by a woman who sped off after a police officer pulled her over Monday afternoon on the South Side has been identified as Jimmy Medrano, 49.

Medrano was pronounced dead after 4 p.m. on Hackberry Street, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office. His death was caused by multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, according to the medical examiner.

Ephrata police have identified an 83-year-old woman who died Monday after a one-vehicle crash.

Vivian Crowther drove her car off the road in the 700 block of Oak Boulevard and struck a tree, police said.

The Birmingham police and fire departments responded to a multi-vehicle accident on I-20/59 northbound in Ensley about 9:45 p.m.

A total of six vehicles were involved, and four were damaged, according to the Birmingham Fire Department.

One person was transported from the scene, but there were no other injuries.

A 61-year-old Hampton man was killed Monday night after being struck by a vehicle on Pine Chapel Road.

Officers were dispatched at about 5:15 p.m. to the 200 block of Pine Chapel Road, and upon their arrival found Emanuel Lane II suffering from serious injuries, according to a Hampton Police Division news release. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Lane to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries shortly before midnight, the news release said.

Oregon State Police are investigating a crash that took the life of a 26-year-old Veneta woman early Monday.

According the Oregon State Police, officers responded at 7:16 a.m. Monday to reports that a southbound four-door Saturn was attempting to turn east from Ellmaker Road onto U.S. 126W when it was struck in the driver’s door by a 2005 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer rig pulling two trailers. The truck pushed the car across the highway and into a ditch on the south side of U.S. 126W.

The Washington woman charged in the deadly crash on I-84 that killed her young daughter last week cried Monday, as she faced a judge for the first time in the case.

Mattie Spino, 31, wore a suicide smock in court Monday. She was arrested for manslaughter, assault and DUII charges.

Two people are dead after a late night crash in northwest Harris County.

The crash happened on Veterans Memorial near Camden Parkway around 10 p.m. Monday.

Little York firefighters and paramedics showed up minutes later and had to cut part of the car open to get to the trapped victims.

Investigators said two people died at the scene, but the driver and another passenger were rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital with critical injuries.

A woman from Minooka is dead following a crash in Hammond, Ind.

According to Hammond Police, a 23-year-old Hammond, Ind. man driving a GEO Tracker was southbound in the 3500 block of Sheffield around 2:15 a.m. Sunday when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking a Dodge Intrepid with four women inside.

A passenger in the Dodge was thrown from the vehicle and died. Two passengers were taken to Christ Hospital in Illinois with life-threatening injuries; the Dodge’s driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

An 18-year-old skateboarder suffered serious injuries Saturday night when he rode into an intersection and was hit by a car in the Lake Murray neighborhood, San Diego police said.

The driver of a Nissan sedan was heading west on Navajo Road when the skateboarder started crossing the road at Cowles Mountain Boulevard against a red light, police Officer David Stafford said.

The two collided and the skateboarder suffered open leg fractures and scrapes, Stafford said. Paramedics took him to a hospital. The car driver, a woman in her early 20s, was not injured.

Police say a Massachusetts man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on a snow-covered interstate in Vermont.

State police say 21-year-old Benjamin Mohla of Wakefield, Mass. died in the crash Saturday afternoon on Interstate 89 in Randolph.

Investigators say Mohla was riding in the backseat of a pickup truck that went off the roadway, down an embankment and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police said the driver and another passenger, both of Gloucester, Mass., were also injured.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
