A Beverly man was killed in a single-vehicle crash along Ohio 60 in Morgan County Sunday morning. Gary E. Combs, 66, was driving north on Ohio 60 in Center Township when the accident occurred around 9:05 a.m., according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Marietta Post. Police said Combs' vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. No alcohol or drugs are suspected in the crash and Combs was wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation by OSHP.

Two separate crashes left police officers in two different counties hospitalized. And in both cases, the drivers were possible intoxicated. The first wreck left a Bensalem police officer hurt after her police cruiser was hit by a van on Sunday night in Lower Southampton Township. Lower Southampton police confirmed to NBC10 that the officer was involved in the crash at Brownsville and Old Street Road around 7:30 p.m. The officer was taken to Aria Torresdale hospital with neck and back pain.

The driver of an SUV died Sunday after rear-ending a PennDOT snow plow truck on Interstate 79 in Mercer County, Pennsylvania State Police said. State police and the Mercer County coroner have yet to release the name of the driver whose Chevrolet Tahoe drove into the southbound plow just after 7 p.m. SUV crashed into the plow at mile marker 119 in Findley. Troopers said the vehicle caught fire and spun around after rear-ending the plow. A deputy coroner pronounced the driver dead at the scene. State police said the PennDOT driver wasn’t hurt.

Seven people were injured -- two of those suffering life-threatening injuries -- in a three-car crash on Branch Avenue at Allentown Road in Prince George's County Saturday night. Most of the injured appeared to be in their teens or early 20s, a fire department spokesman tweeted. One victim was middle-aged. Southbound Branch Avenue was closed during the rescue efforts, which included flying three of the injured to trauma centers. Many of the injured appeared to have been ejected from their vehicles. There was no immediate information about the cause of the accident.

Police are investigating the death of a man killed in a violent crash Monday morning. It happened on South Dairy Ashford and Westheimer at around 1:30am. Investigators say a Toyota Scion was t-boned by a car that ran a red light.

Two state troopers were hurt in a crash in Revere early Monday morning and State Police say one of them was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Trooper John Phonesavanh pulled over a Honda Accord on Route 1 south in Revere around 1 a.m. While he was in his cruiser parked in the breakdown lane writing a ticket, a Toyota Corolla slammed into the back of his car. The impact of the crash pushed the cruiser into the Honda. State Police say the driver of the Toyota was 43-year-old off-duty trooper Shawn D’Amato.

Authorities in south Phoenix say two people died in a single-car wreck early Sunday morning. A young couple in their mid-20s died in a rollover crash near Laveen Sunday morning. A Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman said a little after 4 a.m. the driver of a white Lexus in the northbound lanes of 51st Avenue lost control and rolled the car several times. A man and a woman, both in their 20's, died at the scene.

A man was arrested for striking and killing a 65-year-old pedestrian in Harlem Sunday morning, police said. Officials said the man, Prince Julien, 23, struck Willie Zachary while he was trying to cross St. Nicholas Avenue between 131st and 132nd streets at around 10 a.m. Zachary was pronounced dead at the scene. Julien has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while impaired by alcohol, police said. Information on a lawyer for Julien was not immediately available.

A spokesman for Amtrak says seven of the nine cars of the Amtrak Crescent came off the tracks around midnight. The Spartanburg County Fire Marshal says four of the 207 passengers suffered minor injuries. None of the 11 crew members were hurt. The Amtrak Crescent was traveling north from New Orleans. The train was expected to make its final stop in New York City later Monday. Amtrak is investigating why the train derailed.

Four adults were injured in Perris Sunday afternoon when a 19-year-old Romoland man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol crashed his vehicle into a restaurant, officials said. Authorities responded about 3:20 p.m. to the crash at Mariscos La Sirena restaurant in the 2900 block of North Perris Boulevard. One adult suffered major injuries and another received moderate injuries as a result of the crash, authorities said. Two other adults were minorly injured.
