Maryland State Police say a man was killed and another man was hurt when a car and a box truck collided on Belair Road in Fallston. It happened about 6:55 a.m. Monday. Troopers say Austin Robert Lentz, 20, of Forest Hill was traveling north when his Mustang crossed the double yellow lines. Police say Lentz’s car hit a truck driven by Donald Glen Ranger, 60, of Mount Wolf, Pa. Lentz was pronounced dead at the scene. Ranger was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The crash is under investigation.

The scene of a deadly tanker crash on Interstate 95 just south of 45th Street is now clear following a night of traffic backups on the interstate, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. All lanes were reopened just before 11:00 p.m. Friday night, close to seven hours after the accident occurred. Warner Letterman, 41, of Greenacres died after the front tire of the septic truck he was driving blew out causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a tree, said an FHP spokesperson.

A rollover crash on the East Freeway caused several additional crashes and prompted an hours-long freeway closure Saturday morning. It started around 2:15, when a driver in an SUV lost control of the vehicle and rolled over near Oates. A wrecker arrived to assist in removing the SUV. Police said no one was injured in that crash; however, an 18-wheeler attempting to avoid the wrecker and the crash site ended up hitting the wrecker truck, sending it into a concrete wall and a Mustang.

A head-on crash involving a semi and another vehicle killed one person in Shelby County this afternoon. The crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. on Ind. 44, near Old Franklin Road. Authorities suspect that the passenger vehicle and semi were traveling in opposite directions, when the driver of the passenger vehicle heading west drove into the direction of the eastbound semi. The passenger vehicle’s driver, who has not been identified, was killed. The semi driver was not injured.

A female pedestrian was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer Friday afternoon in Cooleemee. Angelica Loj, 23, died around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 801 near Marginal Street and across the street from a convenience store. Loj was walking across the street and ended up walking in front of a tractor-trailer, troopers said. A witness at the convenience store said he heard a loud thump and then saw a body in the road.

A child has died and four more are injured after a dump truck and school bus crashed near Deer Flat and Happy Valley roads south of Nampa just before 8 a.m. According to the Canyon County coroner, 11-year-old Daniel Robert Cook from Nampa died at the scene of the crash. The names and conditions of the remaining injured children have not yet been released. Police say two of the four children were transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, while the remaining two more were taken to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa.

Six elementary-age children were taken to a hospital as a precaution, after a semi-tractor trailer truck hit a school bus in southwest suburban Stickney on Friday. Stickney police said the call about the crash came in around 7:20 a.m., after a semi and a school bus collided at Pershing Road and Central Avenue. Six students who were on the bus were taken to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, but a hospital representative said the children seemed to be fine. She said all of the students appeared to be elementary school age, and were deaf, but she did not know what school they attend.

A semi truck was hauling a long flatbed trailer westbound on Highway 285/Hampden bypass when the driver failed to stop at South Clarkson Street, possibly because of a medical condition. The semi plowed into the back of cars that were parked at the intersection, and went on to knock over a power pole. Four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck is from Winslow Crane Service Co., based in Englewood.
