One person is dead in a small plane crash in Mariposa County, the sheriff's-coroner's office confirmed.

The emergency call came in at 10:10 a.m.

Sheriff's personnel in an aircraft and a California Highway Patrol helicopter crew responded to the scene described as possibly on the 6000 block of Highway 49 near the Mariposa-Yosemite Airport. The downed aircraft was spotted in a rugged area off of Highway 49, the sheriff-coroner office said.

Sheriff's deputies and Search and Rescue personnel arrived at the aircraft at approximately 11:45 a.m. to find one person dead.

A 19-year-old Brigham City man — who may have fallen asleep at the wheel — died early Friday morning when his pickup truck rolled on Interstate 15 near Brigham City.

Mitchell Burton died at about 3:30 a.m. when his northbound truck drifted into the left emergency lane and onto a rumble strip, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Burton then over-corrected and the truck traveled back across the freeway to the right shoulder, where it rolled once, hitting a sign post.

A motorcyclist died early today as a result of an accident on the northbound San Diego (5) Freeway, authorities said.

A San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said the accident occurred near West Washington Street in the city's Middletown neighborhood northeast of San Diego International Airport,

The accident was reported around 1 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.

At least two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 in Wilmington.

Delaware State Police were called at 11:00 a.m. Friday to the southbound lanes of the highway between Frawley Stadium and the I-295 split.

Four cars and a motorcycle collided.

At least two people were taken to Christiana Care Hospital.

There was no immediate word on their conditions.

Cars were getting by the accident scene on the right shoulder.

Southbound traffic was backed up for miles as police investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at Baltimore and High streets in Gettysburg on Friday morning.

Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was crossing Baltimore Street shortly after 7 a.m. when he was hit by a car that fled the area.

Witnesses told police the young boy walked into the side of the car that was coming down the street.

Police have an updated description of the vehicle: They say the car is cream-colored or off-white and about the size of a station wagon.

A child died after being run over by a pickup truck in what appears to be a tragic accident in northwest Harris County.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 16900 block of Chapel Pines Drive in northwest Harris County. Investigators say the 4-year-old victim was staying at his grandparent's home. The grandfather was exiting the house holding an infant when the boy ran away from him and behind a pickup truck driven by a neighbor, deputies say.

The child was hit and pronounced dead at the scene. We're told the child was between two and four years of age.

One woman died after a pin-in crash that seriously injured four others Thursday night in the South Side West Pullman neighborhood.

Three adults and two children, whose ages and genders were not immediately known, were involved in the pin-in crash about 7:10 p.m. near the corner of 123rd and State streets, a Fire Media Affairs spokesman said.

A vehicle involved in the crash struck multiple other vehicles and damaged residential property before stopping, said a police News Affairs Officer. Police are investigating the incident, police said.

The driver of a small SUV has been cited for failure to yield after a collision that injured a motorcyclist Friday morning in Caldwell.

The accident was reported on Franklin Road near Specht Avenue just after 6:30 a.m.

We're told the unidentified driver of the SUV was trying to cross several lanes of traffic and turn into the Sage Travel Plaza when the crash happened.

The motorcyclist reportedly suffered a broken leg and was transported to a local hospital.

A homeless man was hit by a car that ran off the ramp from I-471 to I-71 early Friday morning.

Cincinnati police say a driver, later identified as Robert Harvey, 23, veered off the ramp, ran down an embankment and hit a bridge.

A homeless man, identified as Fred Dier, 36, was sleeping under that bridge was hit by the car but was not seriously injured. Police Lt. Tim Brown told The Cincinnati Enquirer that it was "a miracle" that the man wasn't more seriously injured or killed.
