A 25-year old Poway man died after his SUV crashed on an El Centro freeway early Friday morning, CHP officials said.

The man has been identified as Daniel Boe, said an Imperial County coroner’s official.

Boe lost control of his 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee while traveling westbound on Interstate 8, west of Forrester Road, said a CHP Officer.

He drove into the dirt center divider and his SUV overturned on eastbound lanes of I-8 and landed on its roof on the shoulder on the other side of the freeway.

A West Hartford woman was arrested on drunken driving charges hours after her 21st birthday ended, according to West Hartford Police.

Police arrested Haleigh MacCloy, 21, of West Hartford, after responding to a car crash on Flagg Road near Albany Avenue at 4:20 a.m. on Friday.

MacCloy has been was driving east on Flagg Road when she lost control of her 2000 VW Beetle, hit a snow bank on the right side of the road and veered to the left side of the street, where she hit another snow bank and flipped the car onto the passenger side,

Authorities are looking for a man they say fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run on Veterans Boulevard Thursday (Feb. 27) then stopped at a drugstore where he shoved an elderly woman to the ground and drove off in her car.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says David Millsap, 24, of Broken Arrow, Okla., rear-ended a Lincoln Towncar with a PT Cruiser around 2:30 p.m. on Veterans Boulevard and Brockenbraugh Court. The wreck sent 75-year-old Ronal Ehrhardt of Metairie to the hospital, where he died around 7 p.m.

Two people burned to death Friday morning after their car veered off Gretna Boulevard and crashed into a high voltage utility tower. The wreck happened around 3:30 a.m.

It took several hours for police to remove the bodies from the vehicle. It is unclear if the victims are male or female. A vehicle description has not been released.

The wreck in the 500 block of Gretna Boulevard shut down the eastbound lanes of the roadway for several hours Friday morning from Lafayette Street to Belle Chasse Highway.

Two people were injured -- one critically -- and the lanes of the Chinatown feeder ramp on Interstate 90/94 were closed Friday morning after a vehicle rolled over.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 4:10 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman whose age was not immediately known, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

A female passenger in the vehicle was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

Oklahoma City police are at the scene of an accident on Interstate 40 Friday morning.

According to officers, a tractor-trailer and car collided on the south side of the Rockwell bridge. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the driver of the tractor-trailer fell asleep and caused the collision.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.

A train and truck collided in South Florida Friday, closing down nearby roads as authorities worked to clear the wreckage.

The truck’s driver, Voroly Olivares, said he was following his GPS instructions in the dark and accidentally turn onto the tracks in Lake Worth, Fla. The truck then got stuck on the tracks and shortly after the train came along and hit it. The driver was not in it.

The crash was reported at 5:15 a.m. Friday.

A man is in the hospital after an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant led to a police chase in north Harris County.

Deputies say the man walked into the Burger King on Cypresswood and the North Freeway around 9 p.m. Thursday. The man pointed a gun at employees and demanded cash.

Once the man had cash, deputies say he jumped in his pickup truck and drove off. That’s when a deputy started chasing him.

A fatal wrong-way accident with a hazmat spill had the Southwest Freeway southbound shut down in Fort Bend County this morning.

Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office investigators said a woman was driving north in the southbound lanes and struck a dump truck head on. She died at the scene.

There is no word on any injuries to the dump truck driver.

The Beasley Fire Department called for the Richmond FD hazmat team to assist with a fluid spill. Either gasoline or transmission oil was leaking onto the roadway.

An Idaho man died in a traffic crash during a heavy rainstorm Thursday near Wellington.

Jack Le Roy Seiber, 22, was driving a Ford Escort west on State Road 6 in Carbon County about 3 p.m. when an eastbound Toyota 4Runner lost control and crashed into Seiber’s Escort, Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Seiber, of Blackfoot, Idaho, died.

The driver of the 4Runner was not injured, but two passengers were taken to a hospital; they were expected to survive, according to police reports.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
