A motorcycle accident Saturday claimed the life of a Clinton man.

Officials confirmed today the identity of a man pronounced dead at the scene of the accident as Jonathan Nash, 41, of Clinton.

According to a press release, Clinton County deputies were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. Saturday night for a motorcycle accident in the 3800 block of Iowa 136, approximately 2 miles east of Goose Lake. A single motorcycle was found lying at the scene.

The operator, Nash, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Alaska State Troopers say a 29-year-old Wasilla man was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep Wrangler.

The accident was reported about 10 p.m. on Saturday. Troopers say in a statement that Cameron MacDonald of Wasilla was riding a 1980 Yamaha motorcycle when it collided head-on with a 2012 Wrangler driven by a 20-year-old Wasilla man.

A spokeswoman stated that troopers were still investigating Sunday afternoon and hadn't determined what caused the crash.

A Tidewater woman died after her car fell down a steep embankment into the Alsea River Saturday evening.

Makala Osborn, 18, was driving a Ford Escort on East Canal Creek Road near Waldport when witnesses reported seeing her car careening down a 50-foot embankment.

“The vehicle was reportedly seen upside down in the river before fully submerging in the water,” said Sgt. Adam Shanks of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

A two car crash in Memphis left one man dead late Saturday night.

Police say 33-year-old Josh Bichelman was making a left turn onto Walnut Grove Road from Mendenhall Road when 53 year-old Raymond Glover struck the victim's SUV.

Bichelman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, crashed head-first into a pole and died on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

State Police say a 31-year-old woman has died after her car went off the road and crashed into a house in Steuben County.

Troopers say Desiree Fairchild of Caton was driving south on Park Avenue in Corning Saturday afternoon when she veered off the right side of the street and hit two utility poles and a house. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A 16 year old from Clinton was killed early Saturday morning on Highway 70 east of Goldsboro.

Troopers say James Edward Johnson was walking near Lake Wackena Road when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Larry Dale Evans, of Dunn. It happened in the westbound lane of Highway 70.

Johnson received fatal injuries.

No citations were issued.

Two people were killed and one injured Saturday in a two-vehicle accident at Porter Pike and Petty Road.

Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the accident at 3:08 a.m.

A Mazda truck driven by Linda Cowles, 46, of Smiths Grove, was on Porter Pike when a Chevy Cavalier driven by Jonathan Elmore, 23, of Bowling Green, attempted to cross Porter Pike from Petty Road, causing Cowles to strike the vehicle, deputies said in a news release.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when her vehicle struck a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer from behind at a red light, leaving him pinned between two vehicles Saturday, officials said.

The officer was waiting for the traffic light at Saticoy Street and Lankershim Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. when an SUV rear-ended him, according to the LAPD. The officer was pinned between the SUV and the vehicle in front of him.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday when his Honda motorcycle collided with a Mazda passenger car as the two vehicles traveled on Route 202 near the New Salem-Shutesbury town line.

The rider was air lifted by MedFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. No other injuries were reported State Police Sgt. Thomas Kelley said.

A motorcyclist died in a crash on state Route 76 west of Lake Henshaw Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 5:20 p.m. and happened west of East Grade Road, a Cal Fire Battalion Chief said.

A 27-year-old Escondido man was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson Breakout westbound when he entered a curve, veered to the right and hit some dirt, causing him to lose control of the bike, a California Highway Patrol Officer said.

The rider slammed into a boulder and was thrown from the motorcycle. He died at the scene.
