A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday when his Honda motorcycle collided with a Mazda passenger car as the two vehicles traveled on Route 202 near the New Salem-Shutesbury town line.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday when his Honda motorcycle collided with a Mazda passenger car as the two vehicles traveled on Route 202 near the New Salem-Shutesbury town line.
The rider was air lifted by MedFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. No other injuries were reported State Police Sgt. Thomas Kelley said.
Kelley said the accident was originally reported at 4:40 p.m., but the highway was closed for approximately five hours as the State Police Accident Reconstruction Section and the Crime Scene Services unit investigated the crash scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
