A 43-year-old man disappeared Monday after crashing a vehicle on a Highway 99 offramp, leaving an injured woman in his car, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Investigators are looking for a man they identified as Alfredo Ventura, according to CHP Officer Moises Onsurez.

Ventura was the suspected driver of a black 1998 Ford Explorer heading north about 7:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 99, the CHP said.

A 46-year-old Marion man was killed Monday morning when he crashed into the back of a semi-trailer truck on U.S. 56 near Hillsboro, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.

Gary Alleven was driving east on U.S. 56 at about 6:15 a.m. Monday when his Ford Fiesta struck the back of a semi-trailer truck that had turned into westbound lanes at Jade Road slightly more than a mile east of Hillsboro, according to the highway patrol. He died at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 25-year-old Samuel Unruh of Canton, was not injured.

A man was taken to the hospital Monday evening after a motorcycle accident in Royal Palm Beach.

Police said a motorcyclist struck a guardrail near the 2600 block of North SR 7 Extension around 8:30 p.m.

Rescue crews determined the victim's injuries were a trauma alert.

He was taken to St. Mary's by Trauma Hawk for treatment.

The victim's name has not been released.

A black Mercedes-Benz SUV slammed into the Hawaii Kai branch of Bank of Hawaii Monday morning.

Honolulu police say it happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Koko Marina Shopping Center. There were no major injuries reported.

Houston police are investigating a deadly crash in east Houston.

The crash happened in the 100 block of the East Freeway around 7 p.m. on April 7.

According to police, the 64-year-old victim was traveling on the East Freeway exit ramp to the North Freeway in a silver Nissan Versa when he lost control and hit the retaining wall.

His car then flipped over and hit a green Ford F150.

Officials say the victim was tossed from his vehicle and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Ford F150 was not injured.

A truck hauling lumber overturned south of Aledo, Illinois, killing the driver.

Police said the straight truck was northbound on Illinois 94 when it went rolled onto its roof near 40th Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014.

“Based on evidence at the scene, in the vicinity of 40th Avenue the truck traveled off the right side of the road, over-corrected to the left and rolled onto its roof,” said a spokesman for Illinois State Police.

The driver, whose name was not yet released, was the only person in the truck. The driver was killed in the crash.

A man is dead after he was hit by a train in Sherwood Monday night, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s office.

The man was walking along the railroad tracks near Southwest Tonquin Road and Tonquin Loop around 11:30 p.m. when he was hit, police said.

The Pacific & Western Railroad engineer told investigators he saw the victim and tried to stop, but the train still hit him.

Investigators had not yet identified the man or determined why he was on the tracks.

A major crash team was investigating.

A Long Island man was killed Tuesday morning following a harrowing head-on car crash in Brooklyn, officials said.

Nikon Bouyiousklis, 60, of Valley Stream, died from the injuries he sustained during the 4:45 a.m. crash on Remsen Ave. near Glenwood Rd. in Canarsie, officials said.

Bouyiousklis was behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry when he was hit by an Infiniti G37 sedan at the intersection.

Paramedics rushed Bouyiousklis to Brookdale University Hospital, where he died, officials said.

A 19-year-old man was killed in a crash Monday night near a Triad wastewater treatment plant.

Aaron Scott Bean of Thomasville died in the crash around 8:50 p.m. on Baptist Childrens Home Road in front of the city's wastewater treatment plant.

Bean was going south on Baptist Childrens Home Road when his 1996 Honda Civic went off the road, spun sideways and hit a utility pole, Thomasville police said. The car then went airborne and rolled, police said.

Bean was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was killed Monday evening after he was struck by one vehicle and then dragged by a second at the intersection of Australian Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in Riviera Beach, said a spokeswoman for city police.

The man was trapped underneath the second vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokeswoman said.

The accident happened around 9 p.m.

Both drivers remained at the scene to speak to police.
