Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in east Houston.

It happened just before 12 p.m. Thursday on Market Street near Uvalde. Police say the driver failed to maintain a single lane and hit a curb.

Market was closed while emergency crews were on the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

The 44-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 225 has reopened after an accident shut down the eastbound lanes near the Beltway 8 East.

The motorcycle accident was reported just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say a motorcyclist lost control at a railroad overpass.

Life Flight was called to the scene to transport the driver to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Traffic was being diverted to the frontage road at the Center Street exit while emergency crews were on scene.

All lanes reopened around 9:40 a.m.

Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened just after midnight Thursday on the far west side of San Antonio.

Police said an unidentified man was riding his Harley Davidson southbound on Highway 151, near Rodgers Road and Military Drive, when he failed to negotiate the curve of the highway and drove the motorcycle off the roadway.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the man was not wearing a helmet when he was thrown from the bike. Officers said the victim died as a result of his injuries.

Police say a woman was hit by a car as she was crossing the street in west Houston. It happened around 3:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 7900 block of Westheimer. Houston police say an SUV left a private drive and was driving west when it hit a 63-year-old woman. The victim was not using a cross walk. Officials say the driver stayed at the scene until police arrived. The driver was questioned and released without charges.
