63-year-old woman killed after she is struck by an SUV while crossing Westheimer Street in Houston, Texas

Police say a woman was hit by a car as she was crossing the street in west Houston. It happened around 3:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 7900 block of Westheimer. Houston police say an SUV left a private drive and was driving west when it hit a 63-year-old woman. The victim was not using a cross walk. Officials say the driver stayed at the scene until police arrived. The driver was questioned and released without charges.
