Motorcyclist critically injured, airlifted to hospital, after losing control and crashing on eastbound Highway 225 near Pasadena.

Highway 225 has reopened after an accident shut down the eastbound lanes near the Beltway 8 East.

The motorcycle accident was reported just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say a motorcyclist lost control at a railroad overpass.

Life Flight was called to the scene to transport the driver to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Traffic was being diverted to the frontage road at the Center Street exit while emergency crews were on scene.

All lanes reopened around 9:40 a.m.
