A Linton man died Saturday of injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash on Thursday morning in rural Clark County, Ill.

Jackie 'Jack' L. Miller, 73, died at 5:42 p.m. Saturday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.

The News-Gazette of Champaign-Urbana reports that Miller had been airlifted to Carle following his involvement in a motorcycle accident Thursday morning.

Topeka police on Friday evening identified the motorcyclist who was injured in a crash Thursday as Solomon Omega Smith, 28, of Topeka.

Police and first responders were called about 12:45 p.m. Thursday to the crash, which occurred at S.W. 7th and Lincoln. An initial investigation indicated Smith was northbound on S.W. Lincoln and entered the intersection, where he struck the side of a hospital security vehicle before continuing to slide across the pavement.

Smith, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

A three-vehicle collision in Millville on Thursday evening sent one person to the hospital and prompted an investigation into whether one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol.

The Cache County Sheriff's issued a news statement Friday, saying the driver of a pickup truck traveling eastbound on 200 South in Millville was driving erratically when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a passenger vehicle near 140 W. 200 South around 7:30 p.m.

A 53-year-old Lompoc man was killed in a rear-end collision Thursday night along Highway 1, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 8:48 p.m., just south of Highway 135.

Officers say the driver of a truck pulling a flatbed trailer was headed southbound on Highway 1 at speeds between 35 and 45 miles per hour when the Lompoc man, driving a silver Mercedes, slammed into the rear end of the truck at an unsafe rate of speed.

The Mercedes became trapped underneath the trailer, the CHP said.

Kelly Gordon, a Boston College student, was killed late Thursday on the Upper East Side when she was struck by two separate cabs while crossing the street, the NYPD said.

According to police, Gordon, 22, had been crossing York Avenue at East 84th St. from east to west around 11:30 p.m. when she was struck by a cab traveling south on York. She was then struck by a second cab heading north in the opposite lane.

Four people, including two children were injured Thursday afternoon in a vehicle crash in the Town of Farmington.

The crash occurred about 4 p.m. at County H and Highway 144, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was driving west on County H when she crossed the center line and hit an eastbound car driven by a 69-year-old Farmington man. The woman's children, a 6-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy, also were in the car at the crash.

Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in east Houston.

It happened just before 12 p.m. Thursday on Market Street near Uvalde. Police say the driver failed to maintain a single lane and hit a curb.

Market was closed while emergency crews were on the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

The 44-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Yulee man faces DUI and careless driving charges after his car rear-ended a Nassau County Sheriff's Office patrol car Thursday night on State Road 200.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Stephen Lee Coleman was heading west on S.R. 200 between Fernandina Beach and Yulee about 7:30 p.m. when his car struck a marked rear-ended the cruiser driven by 45-year-old William Wettstein.

An 11-year-old girl was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday night.

The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Amber Bloss was traveling southbound on Coal Dock Road, crossing State Route 32 in a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. 43-year-old Christopher Turner was traveling eastbound in a 2004 GMC Sierra on State Route 32.

Troopers say Bloss failed to yield, and Turner's vehicle struck her Jeep on the passenger side. Bloss's vehicle slid off the left side of the roadway and overturned onto it's left side. Turner's truck came to a stop on State route 32.

A pedestrian was struck by two vehicles and killed late Thursday in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on State Road 50 near Pebble Beach Drive.

According to the FHP, a Honda Civic was headed eastbound on S.R. 50 when a man walked into the vehicle's path. The man was not in a crosswalk, troopers said.

The Civic struck the man, who crashed into the vehicle's windshield, according to the FHP, which said a Toyota Camry then ran over the man's body.
