A 65-year-old man has been charged after in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of a bicyclist.

Gabriel Herrera was charged with one felony count of leave the scene of accident resulting in injury or death, a misdemeanor count of failure to give information or aid in injury and a traffic citation for failure to reduce speed, police said.

A 59-year-old victim was riding her bike in the 2900 block of South Poplar Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle struck her, police said. The driver did not stop and kept going east.

Arlington police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident involving a 7-month-old boy in a stroller at the intersection of South Cooper Street and California Lane in South Central Arlington Thursday.

According to police reports, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a driver in a truck attempted to make a turn from northbound South Cooper onto California Lane and struck an oncoming white sedan.

Two days after state police say Tyler Dufrene, 17, was critically injured in a crash in Lafourche Parish just north of the Valentine Bridge on LA 1, the teen remains on life support.

State police say Duffer was driving south when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed the center-line, striking Dufrene's jeep head-on.

Christian Thomas McQueen, 43, turned himself into police on Thursday, May 29, 2014, after police released photos of him and his truck accused in a deadly hit-and-run.

A man accused of intentionally ramming his pickup truck into an SUV and killing its driver before fleeing the scene turned himself in to police on Thursday, officials said.

Christian Thomas McQueen, 43, came to the Orange Police Department with his attorney and surrendered one day after police released photos of him and his GMC Sierra pickup truck, Orange police said.

The 83-year-old rabbi who died Thursday after a truck backed over him had been walking home from doing what he loved most: studying the religion that he passed on to his eight children, family members said.

Yehuda Cohen, who moved to Cleveland Heights from Detroit in 1977, died Thursday while walking home from the Hebrew Academy, where he studied the Bible twice daily, his son, Mair Cohen said.

Three high school students are in the hospital after a serious crash in Oak Cliff Thursday afternoon.

Officers said the teens were on their way to graduation rehearsal at Adamson High School when the car they were in crashed in the 2500 block of West Illinois Avenue near South Hampton Road just before 4 p.m.

The teens were rushed to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Delvin Washington is in critical condition. Devin Harper and Kevin Ramos are listed in fair condition.

A teen is dead following a run-in with Tallahassee police.

Authorities say officers were performing a traffic stop early Thursday morning when they heard shots being fired nearby. The officers ran to the parking lot of Cheeks Sports Bar and Lounge, where they found 18-year-old Duane Erick Strong sitting inside a Dodge Charger.

20 year old Conner Joseph McNally was killed in a single car crash late Thursday night.

According to FHP, McNally was traveling eastbound on the Arlington Expressway when the Honda FIT he was driving struck the inside concrete dividing wall.

The investigation report says that his car left the roadway and into the center grass median, hitting an embankment and going airborne.

Investigators say the car came to rest against a concrete support pier for the Southside Blvd overpass.

RALEIGH — A 20-year-old Cary man died Thursday afternoon when his car, being driven by an 18-year-old woman who police said they suspect was driving impaired, went off Interstate 40, rolled over and slammed into a tree at about 60 mph.

Chase Morgan Rodgers of 101 Butterwood Court was riding in the right, front seat of his 2001 Toyota when it ran off the right side of eastbound I-40 between Trenton and Trinity roads shortly before 5 p.m., a police accident report said.

Two young people killed Thursday while taking a late-night joy ride in an excavator parked at a logging site near Wilkeson have been identified as Jared Lanphear and Aeriel Strough, both 22 years old. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s office said Lanphear is from Buckley. No information was immediately available on where Strough lived. The two died after drinking at a bar with the excavator operator, who took them back to his work site for a ride, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
