A motorcyclist crashed after a high speed chase with authorities in East Alabama, according to the Lee County sheriff. Officials say the chase began when the motorcyclist was speeding and deputies attempted to pull him over at the intersection of Lee Road 212 and Lee Road 240 in Lee County. Officials say the man, later identified as Travis Cooley, 23, then sped off in the wrong direction on Highway 431. The chase ended in a crash at Knowles Road and 5th Street in Russell County. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two state troopers sustained minor injuries when their cars collided early Tuesday as they were rushing to help in a stolen car chase near Lynnwood. The patrol cars collided at an intersection when one failed to make a turn and were totaled in the collision. The two troopers were treated for minor injuries at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and released. One man had a concussion and broken finger and the other had bruised legs. The incident began just after midnight when another trooper pulled over a car on Interstate 5 south of Everett.

The only person seriously hurt was the driver who investigators say caused the wreck. Officers said they believe the woman was intoxicated. Dispatchers first started getting calls about her driving an SUV erratically about 6 p.m. The driver continued into Bellevue before she made her way back to Redmond. Police said she hit one car then, then another, after running over spike strips and crashing on Avondale Road. “The 30-year-old driver was actually pinned in the vehicle. She had to be extricated and was taken to Harborview.

Virginia State Police are investigating a collision between a trooper’s cruiser and a minivan that occurred as the officer was pursuing another vehicle. A State police spokeswoman says Trooper M.W. Deus, the minivan’s 31-year-old female driver and her 10-year-old and 9-year-old daughters suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment. The woman’s 1-year-old son wasn’t injured.

A 22-year-old is dead and a male suspect was critically injured after a chase led to a wrong-way, head-on crash on Interstate 40 in Greensboro Thursday night. Reagan Hartley and the suspect, Ronnie Fichera, 46, were injured around 10:20 p.m. just west of the Patterson Street exit. Hartley died on the way to the hospital, and Fichera was taken to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries, Greensboro police said. The crash happened after Fichera's Ford Expedition exited I-40 west at High Point Road, went around Four Seasons Mall and entered I-40 east going westbound, police said.

A man is dead after he crashed during a high-speed police chase Wednesday morning in northwest Indiana. He has been identified as Nicholas B. Moore, 26, of Gary, Ind., according to a release from the Lake County Coroner's office. Merrillville police were chasing Moore after he carjacked a black Mercedes sedan shortly after 10 a.m., officers at the scene said. Moore drove north into Gary, where police followed him onto Georgia Street and then north to Ridge Road (U.S. 6), where Merrillville police said they abandoned the pursuit.

Shots fired by a Wasilla police officer and an Alaska State Trooper killed a suspected drunk driver who tried to elude them Sunday night, troopers said. Both fired at Gorden E. Samel, 52, of Wasilla, after he backed his pickup toward the officer following a brief but chaotic chase, according to troopers. An adult male passenger in the truck received injuries described as not life-threatening; he was not identified.

Police say they have a man in custody about two miles from the scene of a crash early Saturday after leading police on a chase that went into two counties. A police officer was injured in that crash and the suspect reportedly fled the scene with two children that had been in the back seat. The situation began around 2 a.m. when a Hendricks County K-9 officer attempted to make a traffic stop on South Raceway Road and County Road 100 South.

A man and woman were behind bars after a high-speed police chase ended with a crash in southwest Salt Lake County early Thursday morning. West Jordan police Sgt. Dan Roberts said the chase began at 7800 S. Redwood Road, where police say the woman driver blew through a red light. The ensuing pursuit wound through residential areas and eventually onto Bangerter Highway, where the car ended up going the wrong way.

A Baton Rouge man was arrested Tuesday in Meraux after fleeing police in a stolen Cadillac and crashing the car into a house, according to the St. Bernard Sheriff's office. Michael Perriloux, 18, was spotted driving recklessly by a St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's deputy on E. Judge Perez Drive. Perriloux stopped the car in the 4500 block of E. Judge Perez Drive. But as the deputy was getting out his car, the Cadillac sped off.
