Jacksonville, FLA crash on Interstate 10 involving a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police cruiser and a minivan caused major traffic delays Tuesday.
The crash happened on the interstate near U.S. Highway 301 about 9:15 a.m.
Police said the minivan with four women inside and the JSO cruiser were heading west on I-10 when the minivan slowed down to avoid an accident ahead. Van in JSO crash Police said the officer didn't see the van slow down and the cruiser rear-ended it.
The van spun in the roadway and the patrol car left the road and went into a ditch.

Philadelphia, PAA car sideswiped a police car in Center City this morning sending one person to the hospital.
According to Philadelphia Police, a Nissan Altima crashed into the parked police cruiser at 17th and Ludlow Street -- Ludlow is between Market and Chestnut Streets around 8:15 a.m.
One person was taken to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment, according to dispatchers. It wasn’t clear if the injured person was a civilian or a police officer.

Oklahoma City, OKPolice here on Monday identified an officer and a man involved in a fatal automobile-pedestrian accident on Saturday. Adam Christopher Johnson, 33, of Yukon, was hit about 4:50 a.m. in the 400 block of S Ranchwood Boulevard by a Yukon police car driven by Cpl. Mike Stilley, the Yukon Police Chief said. The area of the accident was a few blocks south of the Yukon Police Department. Corn said investigators believe Johnson was lying in the roadway before the collision. The accident is under investigation, police said.

Denver, COAn allegedly stoned driver drove into two Colorado State Patrol vehicles as troopers were investigating a crash on the ramp to Interstate 76 from I-25 on Saturday evening.
No one was hurt in the accident, according to the Patrol.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. as the troopers' vehicles, with emergency lights flashing, blocked the left lane of the exit ramp.
Keith Kilbey, 23, of Arvada, drove his truck into a CSP Ford Crown Victoria and pushed it into a CSP Dodge Charger.

Jacksonville, FLA Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police cruiser was involved in a crash in which the driver of a van ran a red light downtown Thursday morning, according to police.
The crash happened about 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Monroe and North Liberty streets.
Police said the officer was traveling south on Liberty Street when the van heading east on Monroe Street ran the red light, causing the crash.
The officer was transported to an area hospital for observation. The woman driving the van was not hurt.
The driver of the van was cited for running the light, police said.

Chicago, ILA Lake County Sheriff’s detective escaped his unmarked squad car before it was struck by a Metra train Monday night after getting stuck in the snow.
The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. when the officer, driving a black 2002 Honda Accord, swerved to avoid a van that made an abrupt turn in Round Lake Park, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.
The white conversion van was in front of the squad westbound on Route 134 when it suddenly turned onto Porter Road just as the gates activated. The officer slammed on his brakes and swerved right to avoid the van, the statement said.

Houston, TXA man was arrested after crashing his car during a police chase and then trying to run from officers.
A police officer saw a car driving erratically on Richmond near Shepard around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department.
When the officer tried to pull over the driver, he sped off and police pursued.
Officials said the man raced down Richmond for a few blocks before crashing into a truck.
Police said the driver jumped out of the car and took off running. Police quickly caught him.
Officials said the man is suspected of drunken driving. Charges against him are pending.

Denver, COA trooper with the Colorado State Patrol was seriously injured when a van hit her patrol car while investigating a crash.
Trooper Adeline Roybal was in her patrol car on the left shoulder and median of Interstate 70 near mile marker 292 around 10:45 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a 1996 Ford van.
The collision was so intense it pushed Roybal’s Crown Victoria and another patrol car into the median.
Roybal suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aurora South Medical Center for treatment.

Chicago, ILState police say a car spun out of control on a northwestern Indiana highway and plowed into a trooper's parked cruiser.
Police say Trooper Brandon Henderson stopped about 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the scene on Interstate 65 in Merrillville where a pickup truck had hit a slick spot and crashed into the highway's guardrail.
Henderson parked his cruiser behind the truck with its emergency lights on and was out talking with the driver when a car also lost control on the slick road. That car slammed into the trooper's car and pushed it into the wrecked truck.

San Diego, CAA speeding motorist crashed head-on into an on-duty sheriff's deputy on a rain-slicked Alpine road early Thursday, sending the lawman to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.
The two-car crash on the 3900 block of Willows Road near Viejas Casino & Resort occurred about 3:20 a.m., according to a San Diego County sheriff's Lt.
The deputy was traveling westbound when the eastbound motorist lost control of his speeding vehicle and crossed over a center divider, striking the deputy's car head-on.
