A crash on Interstate 10 involving a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police cruiser and a minivan caused major traffic delays Tuesday.
A crash on Interstate 10 involving a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police cruiser and a minivan caused major traffic delays Tuesday. The crash happened on the interstate near U.S. Highway 301 about 9:15 a.m. Police said the minivan with four women inside and the JSO cruiser were heading west on I-10 when the minivan slowed down to avoid an accident ahead. Van in JSO crash Police said the officer didn't see the van slow down and the cruiser rear-ended it. The van spun in the roadway and the patrol car left the road and went into a ditch. Two of the four women were taken to Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in Macclenny. The officer was taken to UF Health Jacksonville. All injuries were minor. Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt, police said. A sergeant said the officer will be found at fault in the crash and the findings will be reviewed by the JSO Safety Review Board
