A husband and wife are dead after a three-vehicle accident near Simpsonville Monday night, according to the Highway Patrol and Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Leanna Carolina Turner, 23, and her husband Samad Fard Muhammad Turner, 30, were killed after their vehicle collided with a pick-up truck head-on on Fairview Road around 10:40 p.m. Samad Turner was the driver, and Leanna Turner was the passenger in the 2008 Nissan. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to the Greenville County Coroner.

A late-night crash caused by a wrong-way driver killed one person on Monday night. Police said the driver was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Eagle Way Bypass and hit two other cars head-on. The passenger in the wrong-way car died at the scene, and three others were taken to the hospital. Police have not identified any of the victims. At this time, police are not sure why the driver was driving in the wrong lane.

Authorities found a bicyclist lying in the roadway at the intersection of Calimesa Boulevard and Singleton Road. According to witnesses, the bicyclist was traveling southbound and a vehicle crossed the divider and struck the bicyclist head on. The victim's name has been identified as Banning area resident Phil Richards.

An 8-year-old boy and 65-year-old woman were killed Sunday morning in a head-on crash in Oviedo, in the area of S.R. 434 and the 417. Three children were involved in the crash, according to Seminole County Fire Rescue officials. An 8-year-old boy died, two other children in the vehicle, Kyle Deuter and Courtney Deuter, ages 6 and 9, only suffered minor injuries, troopers said. Danielle Deuter, 28, the woman driving the vehicle with the children, was listed in critical condition. The woman driving the other vehicle, Marie Radford, 65, died from her injuries, troopers said.

Montgomery County police detectives are investigating a fatal collision on Old Columbia Pike early Saturday morning. According to police, they were called to a collision at 2:40 a.m. When they arrived, they found a red 2003 Infiniti G35 and a gray 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe in a head-on collision. Police say the Chevrolet Tahoe was driving south when the Infiniti, which was traveling north, crossed the center line into southbound traffic. The two cars collided head-on in the southbound lanes.

Two men died in a head-on collision on N.C. 98 in Durham County on Friday morning, and another has been charged with driving while impaired and two counts of felony death by motor vehicle, the Highway Patrol says. The victims have been identified as Jorge Avalar and his brother, Andreas Avalar, of Durham, according to a statement by the Highway Patrol.

One person was killed and three others injured in a head-on crash in Williamstown that occurred during a snowfall. Police say the woman who died in the Thursday crash on Route 7 was a passenger in a Hyundai Elantra that collided with a Buick Lucerne. She was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where she was pronounced dead. Each vehicle had two occupants. Three other people were taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with injuries that were serious but did not appear life-threatening. No names were released.

A third person has died from injuries in a Dec. 21 head-on collision in Gardendale. Mickie Lynne Farmer, 33, was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m. Friday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. She had been at UAB Hospital since the crash one week ago today. The accident happened at 7:06 p.m. on Old Highway 31 at Church Road. A 2002 Ford F-150 driving northbound crossed over the grassy median into oncoming traffic and struck a Chevrolet Lumina head on.

Two drivers were taken to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon following a head-on collision Friday evening northwest of Burlington on Chuckanut Drive. Calvin H. Long, 54, of Everett was driving a Honda Civic on Highway 11 when he crossed the center line, colliding with a Chevy pickup truck. Bow resident David Crane, 61, was driving the pickup truck. The report shows Long was not wearing a seat belt. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved. As population grows in Skagit County, Washington State, we are seeing more and more collisions, many of them serious or fatal.

A person in a wheelchair was killed by a car on Monterey Road in San Jose Friday evening, according to police. The person in the wheelchair was going north in the southbound lane on Monterey Road while a vehicle was traveling south at about 7 p.m., police said. The two collided head-on near the intersection with Phelan Avenue. The person in the wheelchair was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said.
