Two die in early-morning head-on crash in Durham County; driver charged.

Two men died in a head-on collision on N.C. 98 in Durham County on Friday morning, and another has been charged with driving while impaired and two counts of felony death by motor vehicle, the Highway Patrol says.

The victims have been identified as Jorge Avalar and his brother, Andreas Avalar, of Durham, according to a statement by the Highway Patrol. Jorge Avalar was driving an Isuzu east on N.C. 98 near Coley Road, with his brother as a passenger, about 5:50 a.m. when their vehicle was struck by a Dodge pickup driven by Robert Breeden III of Raleigh, who had drifted left of center on the road, Gordon said. Breeden was charged Friday morning. The investigation is continuing.
