Akron Police said a man crashed his car drunk and then hid in a drain pipe in Akron Saturday.

Bradley Zaryki, 45, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to stop after an accident and failure to control.

Police said they responded to a report of a one-car crash at East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue and Front Street in Akron after a northbound car swerved off the right side of Front Street and drive through a guardrail just south of the Cuyahoga River.

A 22-year-old Denver snowboarder died Monday morning after he crashed into a tree at Copper Mountain.

The Summit County Coroner said the crash happened around 9:30 on the Vein Glory run, a beginner trail.

The snowboarder, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to St. Anthony's Copper Mountain Clinic.

The victim's name was not immediately released. His death is under investigation.

At least eight injuries were reported when a car and a Metro bus collided downtown on Monday morning.

Police stated that there were 11 people on the No. 33 Glenway/Western Hills bus when it hit a westbound car at the intersection of Sixth and Main.

The car was shoved off the road onto the sidewalk, knocking off a fire hydrant along the way.

The bus driver and the car's driver were taken to hospitals for treatment. At least a half-dozen passengers were transported to UC Medical Center to be checked out.

The first car of an MBTA Green Line train crashed into the tunnel wall after derailing just west of Kenmore Station this afternoon. Seven people suffered minor injuries, and the tracks in the area are to be closed for the rest of the day, authorities said.

The derailment happened between the Kenmore and Fenway stations, fire department officials said in a tweet.

Boston EMS spokesman Nick Martin said the seven injured would be transported to the hospital shortly. Many of the injured reported back pain, he said.

A one-vehicle crash in Wyoming County late Sunday night led to the arrest of a Castile man accused of having a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit, Wyoming County sheriff’s officials reported.

At about 11:20 p.m., Perry village police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site on Pattridge Road in the Town of Castile, where they found an overturned and unoccupied Dodge Ram. Police later located the driver, 35-year-old Jason M. Redfield, on Lower Reservation Road, where he admitted to having been the driver, officials stated.

A veteran Metro-North worker was struck and killed by a train in East Harlem early Monday, the latest in a series of accidents at the beleaguered commuter railroad.

The employee, 58-year-old James Romansoff, was working on the tracks near East 106th Street and Park Avenue when he was hit by a Poughkeepsie-bound Hudson Line train that left Grand Central Terminal at 12:47 a.m., a Metro-North spokesman said.

Tampa Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian early Monday morning on North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.

The accident happened near West Cherry Street. Police said a pedestrian was hit and killed there. They have not released the pedestrian's name or what kind of vehicle was involved.

TPD officers continue to investigate.

Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a car on Interstate 40 eastbound in Davie County early Monday morning.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said it happened at 12:37 a.m. near Highway 801.

State troopers said Michael Anthony Jones was driving a tractor-trailer when he lost control and hit a car, pushing it into the guardrail. The tractor-trailer then went off the road and down an embankment.

The driver of the car, Patricia Peebles, and a passenger were taken to the hospital.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on U.S. Highway 61 that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Natchez man.

The Adams County coroner stated that Tyler Brumfield was killed in a two-vehicle wreck that left others injured.

Police said Brumfield was southbound on U.S. 61 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Kingston Road.

Police says Brumfield's car hit another car driven by 50-year-old Paula R. Campesi, of Monroe, La. Campesi was northbound on U.S. 61.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a wreck in Jefferson County Monday morning.

Authorities say Christopher Keith, 27, was driving a 2006 Yamaha on Highway B near Ridge Rd. in Cedar Hill around 5:40 a.m. when he slammed into the back of a tow truck.

Keith was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the wreck was not immediately known.
