Rescue officials have responded to an ultralight crash in Kokee. Preliminary reports state an Evolution Trikes Revo weight-shift-control aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances on the side of a mountain near Polihale Beach around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Kauai police were notified of a fire, and upon investigation realized the fire was a result of an ultralight crash. Firefighters from the Waimea fire station are on scene. The identity of the victims are unknown at this time. Local authorities are reporting that both people on board were killed.
Gage Beland, 12, of Lake Odessa remained in critical condition Thursday after he crashed during a motorcycle flat track race in Florida Monday.
The crash happened at the Volusia Speedway, about 25 miles west of Daytona Beach.
“A rider went down and when Gage came out of the corner, he hit that rider’s bike,” aunt Becky Cole said. “He was ejected from his bike. And when he landed they figured the impact was so severe, it shut everything down.”
According to Columbus police, crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Refugee and Noe Bixby roads.
According to police, 2-year-old JayByuante McGrew-Bell was hit when he ran into the path of a 2003 Jaguar.
Police say the child was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the child the driver remained at the scene, according to officers.
According to Grenada Police, a 2005 Nissan Altima was traveling north on I-55 around 6:35pm Monday night.
The driver of the car, Carlie Nichols, age 17, lost control and officials believe the car flipped several times. The passenger, Victoria Price, was flown to a Memphis hospital. Nichols was pronounced dead on the scene. Both girls are from the Jackson area. Nichols was a student at Murrah High School.
Witness statements say the car was traveling close to the speed limit.
The Grenada Police Department says both girls were wearing seatbelts.
Authorities in northwestern Arizona say a man and woman from Golden Valley are hospitalized after a burro-related motorcycle accident in Bullhead City.
Bullhead City police say 61-year-old Kenneth Imthurn and 52-year-old Janna Imthurn both are listed in critical but stable condition at Las Vegas hospitals after Monday night's accident.
It's not immediately clear if they are a married couple.
Police were called about burros near Highway 68 about 7 p.m. Monday and an officer stopped to steer the burros off the road.
