An unidentified 16-year-old girl was driving an SUV to the north on Highway 65 when she began to veer into the shoulder at around 9:25 p.m. She then overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to lose traction and flip. A 14-year-old female passenger was declared dead at the scene, and another passenger, identified as Sean O’Neill, 49, sustained serious injuries including broken bones. The driver had significant cuts to the head, but was otherwise okay.

Just before 1:00 a.m., an SUV driven by Raini Kishwalk, 18, was driving south on I-84 near Ellensburg and began to drift off of the road. Kishwalk overcorrected and the vehicle departed the roadway on the other side and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Amy J. Hunt, 24, remains in the hospital after the collision, while Kishwalk has already been treated for more minor injuries and released. It is believed that alcohol was involved in this crash, meaning Kishwalk could face vehicular assualt charges.

Whitney Westmoreland was driving on East/West 450 Road when her vehicle began to run off the pavement and she overcorrected, causing her vehicle to slide into the path of a school bus. She sustained fatal injuries. She was wearing a seat belt and the airbags of her vehicle deployed. Two of the students on the bus suffered minor head injuries, but no one else was injured.

At about 4:40 p.m., 19-year-old Daniel Espinoza was driving east on I-90, when his left rear-tire blew out and he careened into the median. Espinoza then overcorrected, which caused his car to flip over and land upside-down. He was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Kathleen Gerard was southbound on Race Road just south of Glen Road when she lost control of her 2006 Kia, overcorrected, and struck a tree. Police responded to the crash around 2:40 p.m. Thursday. Gerard, of Grass Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old driver was traveling south on Idaho 167 when they lost control of their vehicle and travelled off the right shoulder. They then overcorrected and veered back into the roadway, crossing into northbound lane. The teen driver then struck a vehicle driven by Christopher Strandage, the impact causing his car to travel off the road as well. Strandage was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Also in Strandage's car were two passengers Jodi Jewett and a 12-year-old child. All three were taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
