Idaho State Police said two vehicles were involved and said at least one person was transported to a hospital. The two-vehicle collision occurred near the Simplot complex, Idaho State Police said.

A 15-year-old driver was traveling south on Idaho 167 when they lost control of their vehicle and travelled off the right shoulder. They then overcorrected and veered back into the roadway, crossing into northbound lane. The teen driver then struck a vehicle driven by Christopher Strandage, the impact causing his car to travel off the road as well. Strandage was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Also in Strandage's car were two passengers Jodi Jewett and a 12-year-old child. All three were taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Strandage died of his injuries, Jewett was treated and released.
