Authorities said a 56-year-old man was killed in a crash Sunday in Lincoln County around 3:00 p.m. Police said John Helton, 56, was driving west on Miles Creston Road at Seven Bays Road when he crossed the center line and hit Thomas Boynton, 56. Boynton was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt. Helton was taken to Sacred Heart by Medstar. Washington State Police said charges are pending.
A man is dead after a crash in Rowan County on Tuesday around 10 a.m. on Open Fork Road. Thomas Mabry, 52, of Morehead, was driving his truck when it left the road, hitting a concrete culvert. The impact threw Mabry from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. KSP says they do not think he was wearing a seat belt. The accident remains under investigation.
One man was hospitalized Tuesday after his vehicle landed on its roof following a single-car crash. It happened around 10 a.m. on Buchanan Street west of US-31 in Grand Haven Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Jonathan Hoffman, 45, of Grand Haven Township was headed east on Buchanan when his 2013 Toyota Rav4 went off the road into a ditch. It hit a driveway culvert and went airborne before hitting several trees and landing on its roof, authorities said. Hoffman, the only person in the vehicle, was pinned in and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
