40-year-old Philip Leckburg was hauling rock to the north on Highway 285 in a dump truck when a southbound Buick crossed into his lane sometime before 9:00 a.m. Despite Leckburg's attempt to avoid a crash, the two vehicles collided head-on, and then both departed the roadway. The 76-year-old man who was driving the Buick was not wearing a seat belt, and died in the wreck. Leckburg sustained only minor injuries.

Joseph Saccente, 92, was driving a Colonial Taxi to the north on Shore Road shortly after 7:00 a.m., when investigators say he experienced a medical emergency. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a few mailboxes before he crashed into a home with five people inside, causing major damage to the building. Fortunately, no one in the house was injured, but Saccente was severely hurt and pronounced dead soon after he was brought to the hospital.

At around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Poplar Springs Road and Wofford Road, a dump truck ran into the side of a Honda SUV. The SUV was dragged off the roadway along with the truck and into a yard. The woman driving the SUV, identified as Syble Cooper was killed in the crash, but Lawrence Swikard, 49, the driver of the dump truck, is in satisfactory condition at the hospital. Investigation shows that the truck lost one of its front tires, which is what caused it to crash into Cooper's car.

Leal was driving eastbound on the Ohio Turnpike at about 2:30pm when he somehow lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road into a guardrail, and ricocheted back into traffic where he collided with two more vehicles and a semi-truck. The wreck left Leal, who was not wearing a seat belt, dead at the scene. Investigation continues to find out more details on the crash; we will udpate this story as information is released.

Hitchcock was driving a dump truck on M-89 when something, possibly a tire suddenly blowing out, caused the him to lose control and depart the roadway, where the truck hit multiple trees. The collision left Hitchcock severely injured, and he remains in critical condition in the hospital. While the cause of the accident is uncertain, a loud noise was heard by a nearby resident just before the crash, which is thought to be the sound of one of the truck's tires popping. Jody Johnson and Justin Angel were riding in a car when a tractor-trailer struck them on the Ky. Hwy. 80 and Ky. 914 by-pass. The impact of the collision sent the car off the road. The driver of the car was 20-year-old Travis Strope, who suffered serious injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, identified as 34-year-old Timothy Fields, complained of back and neck pain, and both he and Strope were hospitalized.
